On 29 October 2023, BP was amongst the six energy companies awarded licences by Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for offshore natural gas ‘exploration’ in the eastern Mediterranean. There are also severe concerns over BP fuelling the Israeli military through crude oil — and that “most importantly, BP owns and operates the Baku-Tbilsi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, through which comes all of Azerbaijan’s crude oil supplies to Israel – with Azeri imports in total contributing 28% of Israel’s crude oil supply.”
