Cisco has been consistently complicit in the violation of Palestinian human rights. Alongside building ‘tech hubs’ and running operations on occupied territory (including the West Bank and the occupied Golan Heights), in 2017, Cisco entered a pro-bono agreement with the Israeli occupation in Jerusalem to design surveillance tech used against Palestinians.
Between 2013 to 2022, Cisco also sold software and equipment worth $151m to the Israeli police force. “The sight of [IOF] officers in uniforms sitting next to our engineers […] is very natural to us, but still exciting,” says a former Cisco VP of Technology.
