Though it masks itself as a US-based company, Payoneer was founded in 2015 by Israeli engineer Yuval Tal who remains president of the organisation and was celebrated by Israeli outlet Globes for raising $180m in 2016.
More recently, Payoneer has been exposed for freezing a disproportionate and growing number of Palestinian accounts since 7th Oct 2023.
