At the start of the Gaza genocide, Pizza Hut in Israel professed their ‘love for Israel’ and distributed pizza to the IOF which it shared in a series of widely circulated Instagram posts.
This however is not the first time Pizza Hut has come under fire regarding Palestine. In 2017, Pizza Hut Israel shared an ad campaign mocking Palestinian prisoners undergoing hunger strike, namely leading figure Marwan Barghouti.
In the now deleted post, translated and shared by Maha Hussaini as seen below, a Pizza Hut box is photoshopped in to match the caption.
In response, Pizza Hut Israel then fired its ad agency, and its “Middle East Twitter account said on Tuesday the ad “does not reflect the values of our brand”.
