❌ OpenAI has retracted its ban on ChatGPT usage for ‘military and warfare’ — and, as of December 2024, OpenAI now partners with the pro-Israel US-based defence technology company Anduril Industries to “protect US and allied forces”. In October 2023, Anduril Industries’ founder Palmer Lucky declared, “Israel has my [and our] unqualified support” live on stage at the WSJ Tech Live Conference.
Prior to this, in June 2023, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman visited Israel to “examine various investment options in Israel” and expressed a keenness for it to play a “huge role” in the future of AI. He also met with Israeli President Herzog.
Following on from this, in May 2024, Sam Altman invested in Israeli cybersecurity startup Apex.
